Importance of Understanding the Character of A Court

Parties should take the time to explore the reputation of the court they are entering into. Every Court is different and it takes on the character of the legal actors within the region. If parties do not take the time to understand the legal actors of the court, then there will be an unrealistic expection and an assumption on how these legal actors will operate in Family Court within their cases. You have to know what legal environment you are walking into when you go to Family Court. If the legal actors care only for a check, the Courts reflect that behavior. The longer parties fight it out in court, the more money they have to spend, which means rulings and actions ceases being about the family, especially children.

This is where you will see the Courts using system tools like Child Protective Services (CPS) that is used to keep litigants fighting and keeping them in court longer. But these actions are devasting and detrimental to all parties involved, especially those who are dealing with an opposing party that is abusive. Protective and loving parents can not give up, so they will fight even in a corrupt system. The more you know the more you can protect yourself and get out of their system quickly.
